Spark - What is the Process for Community Groups and Organizations?
Step 1: Meet
Interested individuals, groups, group or organizations meet with a Spark staff person. The purpose of the meeting is to share information: about Spark is and what we do, about your organization or project and what kind of assistance it could use. This information makes it possible for us to better connect you with the resources and volunteers that are right for you.
Step 2: Spark looks for resources and volunteers
Once we know more about your organization and what it is you want to accomplish, we begin looking for the particular resources and/or volunteers with specialized skills who are interested in helping you. We then get back to you to share what we have found. If appropriate, we move to the next step.
Step 3: Match
Spark arranges a meeting between you, a Spark staff person, and the volunteer with specialized skills, in order to get to know each other and plan together what it is you want to accomplish. If everyone is in agreement and is ready to work together, a brief contract outlining the commitment and expectations of all parties is developed.
Step 4: Work
Your organization and the volunteer with specialized skills work together to accomplish what it is you have agreed on, on a timeline and pace that works for everyone. Spark monitors and supports the process, and will check in to see how things are going – and we are only a phone call or an email away if you need some advice or more information to help things along.
Step 5: Evaluate
Once your project or work has been completed, we would like to know how it has gone. We ask that both the organization and the volunteer with specialized skills fill out a confidential evaluation form. This is important because it helps us to learn what works and what needs to be improved for the future.
